Privacy Policy

Teammates For Life (“TFL,” “we,” “us”) is a Penn State Women’s Athletics initiative. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the third-party services involved. It applies to this website only and does not cover Penn State University’s separate systems or policies.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you give us. When you submit one of our forms (contact, mentor or ambassador interest, partnership or giving inquiries, or newsletter sign-up), we collect what you enter — typically your name, email address, and the details of your message, plus any optional fields such as sport, graduation year, or organization.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our analytics provider may collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you visit, and referring links, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and follow up about the program you asked about;
  • To send you updates you’ve requested, such as our newsletter;
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it;
  • To protect the site against spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use form submissions for advertising.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data (including a truncated or anonymized IP address) on our behalf; Google may process this data on servers in the United States. We use these insights only in aggregate. You can opt out of Google Analytics across sites using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies.

Email and form delivery

Form submissions are sent to our customer relationship management (CRM) system, which records your message and notifies the relevant Teammates For Life staff by email. The CRM provider processes this information as our service provider and does not use it for its own purposes. We also use Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that form submissions are made by a person rather than an automated script.

Where your information is kept

When you send us a message or sign up through a form on this site, we create or update a contact record for you in our CRM, alongside a copy of your submission. We use it to respond to you, to keep a record of the correspondence, and to administer our mentorship, ambassador, and events programs. Marketing email is separate: we add you to our newsletter only when you ask us to, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can ask us to correct or delete your information at any time using the contact details below.

Sharing

We share your information only with the service providers described above (analytics, our CRM and its email delivery, and bot protection), each acting on our behalf, and with Penn State personnel who administer the TFL initiative. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Your choices

  • You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
  • You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
  • You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. We will revise the “last updated” date at the top when we do.
